As many of you know, Adobe has just released their new upgrade CS5 !

 

As I have been on their Beta team working with them for the past year, I can tell you that it is one of the best upgrades to date!

 

Wow .... their NEW painting engine is just amazing!  

It gives the user amazing power to paint and retouch in a limitless way, and allows customization that is just wonderful.

In this workshop you will learn the history of art and how to implement the techniques of the ages to create a digital masterpiece. I will take your talents to a new level by showing you the tips, tricks and secrets behind using the NEW Adobe® Photoshop® "CS5 BRUSH ENGINE" and Corel® Painter 11™ "Magical Painting capabilities" to turn your ordinary photographs into enchanting paintings. Whether you are looking to create modern art or a classic portrait, I will show you the way !

 

In the traditional art studio, just a few props are required to get set up for a painting session. The artist needs paints, brushes, and of course, the raw canvas on which their creative inspirations will take shape and form. Corel Painter® is an amazing tool that replicates the traditional art studio in a digital format. I will demonstrate my signature techniques for painting both Watercolor and Oil, with this powerful program!

You will learn how to use and apply my "limited Edition" brushes for background effects, the power of the Blender engine, and so much more!

 

Photoshop CS5 has many new surprises ! Using Photoshops CS5 "New Mixer Brushes", "Bristle Brushes", "Wet Brushes", and much more exciting new surprises ..... plus some long existing tools that have been there in the past versions ...... you will learn how to "MIX" them together to create some amazing and fun painting masterpieces !

 

Take your paint brush and dip it into the Photograph ! as I take you on a journey through time past as you learn about the history of art and the development of Photo Painting. Photo painting is a simulation of the painting workflow, tools, and brushes used by the Old Masters to create the painting styles of their day. It was a sought after art form that was accomplished according to what was available during a specific time period and has continued into the present day Digital Era. Recapture the essence of beauty, form, and substance of bygone ages that continue to influence the way we work today !

 

You will need a Lap Top computer for this class, loaded with Photoshop and Painter .  A Tablet will be needed, and I highly Recommend the Wacom Intuos 3 or 4, lessons on optimizing its use will be taught in class.

If you took any classes with me in the past .... so much has changed, and the possibilities and surprises that I now teach you, are amazing and very exciting for me to share with you!  New Brushes, new media simulation ..... and so much more !

I will share with you my "New Recipes", as I mixe up all the ingredients in the NEW  Photoshop CS5 and Painter 11, and show you how to create amazing paintings using all the Digital Painting tools available to us today !!!

Fay Sirkis is an internationally-recognized portrait artist, photographer and instructor. She speaks at conferences and seminars both here in the US and in Europe. She recently spoke in England at "Focus on Imaging", one of the largest photography conventions Europe, in honor of the of Painter X launch!

She is a New York based contemporary digital artist, with a background in traditional fine art. She attended the Pratt School of Professional Studies in New York City, where she became certified in Graphic and Web Design. She also attended Rockhurst College CE in New York City for her certification in printing and pre-press.

Fay is on the advisory council of Corel Painter, and was a Beta tester as well as instrumental in the launching of Painter IX and X !

Fay is a "Painter Master" and has her work featured in Corel's Painter Masters Art Gallery, as well as their numerous ad campaigns, including their new calendar, printed in honor of Painter X, 2007!

Fay has been honored by Canon as a "Canon Print Master" and her work is featured in numerous Canon brochures as well !

Fay is part of the "Dream Team" Instructors that teach at the National Association of Photoshop Professional's Photoshop World Conferences. Her tutorial on "Photo Painting" was the featured article at Photoshop World Boston, and in the Photoshop User Magazine. She is best known for her simplistic way of teaching, making the learning curve in the digital world easier to master!

Her commissioned portraits and paintings are held in private collections internationally, and also exhibited in museums and art galleries.
